Our landscape project started with the removal of our existing hardscape including the driveway. The broken concrete and old landscape were hauled away by a huge truck.Workers make preparations to implement the new plan. The old lawn has been removed and most of the trash has been hauled away.On Day 2, materials were delivered for the project. It seems that there is no place left to work!A lot of material and some trash remain. The base for the driveway has been delivered. On Day 3 we can begin to see the shape of the sidewalk and the location of the steps. The old brick has been removed from the front of the house and garage. We can see the beginning of what is to come.Part of the driveway is being formed. The garage door has been covered to contain the dust. It's time to start mixing some concrete for footings. There is still a lot of work ahead.Footings for the entry and the stone around the windows are put in place. It still looks like a big mess to me.The remains of the old entry are being prepared for renewal. The "sitting wall" takes shape.Footings for the stone underneath the windo are complete.Rebar is in place and the pathway for the quartzite are formed.More cement. From the street it's looking good. The site has been cleaned up for the night. We like the look.
In late November 2007, we undertook a project to redo the front of our house and the landscape. These are photos of the first week of the project. Click the first photo to begin the slideshow.
