Village of Northwood, Irvine, CA
For those who are not familiar with the City of Irvine, there is no downtown. The city is unique in that it is composed of a series of villages. Each village has shopping, supermarkets, parks, and its own identity. There are regional shopping centers as well. Our village is called the Village of Northwood. It will be 30 years in March since we moved here. At that time, there were only orange groves here. It was sad to see them go little by little.
The Village of Northwood is unique. We have rows of Eucalyptus trees that were planted many, many, years ago. They were planted for windbreaks for the crops and orange groves that grew here. When the area was developed, the trees were preserved. A 5-foot concrete pathway now meanders alongside the trees. The smell of Eucalyptus is wonderful and the path is serene. (The only things missing are the Koalas!) What a great place to walk, jog, or walk the dog. We love it here and are pleased to share the photos below.
