The City of Irvine is located in Orange County, CA. It is a planned city developed mainly by the Irvine Company since the 1960s. It was not until December 28, 1971 that it was formally incorporated. As of 2007, the population is 202,079. The former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station has been annexed. A large part of that area will become the Orange County Great Park. Currently the City of Irvine is the largest city in Orange County based on area.
Irvine is home to the University of California Irvine (UCI), Concordia University, a branch of California State University Fullerton, and Irvine Valley College.

The streets of Irvine are well landscaped. We have bike paths, parks, and greenbelts which tie together ecological preserves. The greenery is irrigated with reclaimed water.
The City of Irvine has no overhead power lines, no unsightly TV antennas, and no billboards. Signs for gas stations are no more than 4 feet high. Can you imagine that? The pumps on most gas stations are turned away from the street with the back of the station facing the street.

Irvine is well known for it's quality education. We have 4 high schools which are consistently recognized as some of the nation's best. The elementary and middle schools also receive national acclaim because of their high test scores.

We have lived in Irvine since 1972 and think it is one of the finest cities in the nation. We have no plans to move anywhere else!
